Avery Dennison is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join the Label and Graphic Materials Group Sales organization. This role is responsible for achieving sales and profitability objectives for assigned customers. The successful candidate will work closely with service teams, Marketing, and Supply Chain to develop and execute the Label and Packaging Materials strategy. You will spend approximately 60% of your time proactively engaging customers by phone addressing customer and account management opportunities and issues.
CRITICAL OBJECTIVES & OUTCOMES:
Deliver sales and profit growth objectives for your assigned customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Know and understand your customers. Demonstrate deep knowledge of their business including the markets they serve, current and future material needs, growth strategies and who they buy from and why. Share the voice of the customer and insights with the internal organization.
• Continually understand your territory analytics for sales, profit and opportunities. Continually incorporate insights into territory and account level strategies, priorities and actions.
• Formally create territory and account strategies to deliver on annual growth, price and mix objectives. Devise a strategy to connect proactively with all customers within your assigned territory to understand the nature of the customers, their expectations and how to deliver the value of Avery Dennison based on those needs. Follow the systematic approach to call planning, call execution and call follow-up.
• Participate in the weekly Technical Sales team MWI to surface issues and align on activities and objectives.
• Build and maintain the opportunity pipeline in Salesforce.com that supports the growth targets of your territory.
• Provide product recommendations, samples, technical support, pricing and service information on demand.
• Remain current on territory and market trends. Promote and sell new product innovations and execute on quarterly Marketing campaigns.
• Proactively identify new target accounts using screening techniques, referrals, and prospecting to potential customers within territory.
•Conduct application assessment through technical support and provide basic troubleshooting assistance.
TRAVEL
• <10% travel (1-2x per year)
Bachelor's degree preferred
EXPERIENCE
• 1-3+ sales or related experience. Pressure-sensitive industry experience preferred.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Proficient in assessing customer needs.
• Skilled in conducting territory analysis and planning.
• Skilled in communicating effectively with all levels of management on complex business issues.
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills. Effective meeting management.
• Strong financial skills and business acumen.
• Strong ability to lead and work as part of a team
• Ability to develop and foster strong relationships over the phone.
• Basic negotiation, financial, mathematical, and business acumen skills needed.
• Proficiency with applicable computer systems, SF.com, CRM and Google Suite
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $58,000/ year.
The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting.
