About the role:


We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Representative to

join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in sales and a passion

for sustainable landscaping solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding

our customer base, managing existing accounts, and promoting our compost and landscaping

products.


What you'll do:

  • Report directly to the Sales & Marketing Director.
  • Collaborate with the Compost Director, Manager, and Supervisor.
  • Assist in preparing quotes and providing product samples.
  • Develop and manage relationships with new and existing clients in the landscaping and construction sectors.
  • Utilize sales tools and prospecting websites to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office and various CRM software systems.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of SCM's compost and landscaping products and processes.
  • Engage actively in the landscaping market through customer visits, meetings, and interactions, focusing on understanding customer needs and highlighting the value of our products.
  • Build and maintain a robust network within the landscaping and construction industries.
  • Collaborate with team members to promote SCM products and services effectively.
  • Work with the Finance & Accounting department to address any payment or invoice issues.
  • Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience (5+ years in B2B sales).
  • Experience in business-to-business sales, especially in landscaping, construction, or related industries, is a plus.
  • Proven track record of increasing customer base and revenue in a competitive market.
  • Experience with CRM software (NetSuite CRM experience is a plus).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with landscaping and related industries is a plus.
  • Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
  • Bilingual (preferred but not required).
